Edited Video

Here is a video I created using Daum PotEncoder.
I edited the original clip "About time"with a Korean movie "Miss Granny".
The reason why I edited them together is because these movies are a story of time travel! :)

Review of Daum PotEncoder

Daum Pot Encoder is a video encoder that one of the most famous Korean Internet firm called Daum Communications developed. It is a program that converts videos/ films to play in cellphones, game devices or pc. Also, you can simply edit and put the video clips on your blogs that you edited right away. The way to use this program can be roughly categorized into four groups:
1. Installation of the program Daum Pot Encoder 2. Video editing, such as cutting/adding/pasting to other clips and inputting text 3. Encording 4. Uploading

There are some considerable pros and cons. The strength of this program is that uploading speed is relatively quick, and the streaming speed is quicker than the world-famous web site Youtube. Also, they offer the program for free as a freeware. Because there is a video edit function, it is very useful for you to re-create your video clip with various subtitles, and you can also find out its capacity. I, as a first time user of Daum Pot Encoder, also realized that this program provides a convenient video encoding, uncomplicated editing tool, syncing with Daum service (very useful network,  especially in Korea), and  partial editing. However, one of the most attractive point I found was that we can save the video clips into our mp3 players and ipods.

However, there are few demerits I found. It takes a much longer time encoding the video clips compare to the other encoder program called Umile Encoder. Once you choose the settings for video quality and encoding it, it lowers the image quality; It can't be better than the original one. Also, comparing this program to Youtube, Youtube offers better quality of images and videos.

After reviewing Daum Pot Encoder, I came up to ask why video editing is important, and here are some examples based on my experience. I had experiences of taking videos with my phone and I loved the scenes that I took on my phone, however the background-noise was inappropriate for the beautiful scenes. Also, when I was looking for a video on the internet, I've sometimes found a video that contains uninteresting content, however the background music caught my fancy. If we use a video editing tool in these kinds of situations, we can make a new video clip by abstracting only the video or just the sound. Editing video is so great, and I believe that video-editing tool can be very useful for our everyday life.

Review of Presentation Tool

I believe that there are various presentation tools, however, Prezi is one of great tools to make your presentation. I am sure most of the people are more familiar with the Microsoft-PowerPoint to use as a presentation tool, even myself, I only used the PowerPoint in my school years because everyone around me used PowerPoint to make a presentation. However, I believe that once you start using Prezi, you would love its features and simplicity which can help you making a presentation in an easier way. 

My experience as an example, it was my first time using and exploring the Prezi in class. I believe most of us don't like a tool that is complicated because it is hard to learn and use, however, my first impression of the Prezi was that it is very simple and provide catchy features which caught my eyes visually as a beginner of using this tool. Once I started to create my Prezi for the very first time, I quickly realized that Prezi is a very easy and useful tool to make a presentation, and it is very attractive how I can zoom-in and out to present things in an attractive way. The another great quality of Prezi is that there are various designs of templets by a category which you can choose based on the content you want to present; The link below is to show you an example of how I chose my templet as my journey. However, Prezi could be inconvenient in some ways. Here, I would like to compare Prezi with the universal tool PowerPoint. As we all understand that PowerPoint can be used in anywhere without internet connection, the internet should be connected to get on the Prezi which means that you can't use it in anytime, at anywhere. Also unlike how PowerPoint provides a lot of functions in figures, shapes and fonts, Prezi has a short history and its functions are not diversity. Though it takes center stage as the great presentation tool for audiences' attention, it is not an useful tool to print out your presentation material as documentation. 

Overall, myself is very happy that I could learn about Prezi and I like how I came up to understand a presentation tool this quickly and easily not as a mechanical person. I believe that Prezi can be one of the greatest tools for presenting one's message, especially for storytelling, and it could be the best way to attract audiences by zooming in and out. We can clearly express and deliver our stories and contents through its connectivity. Also, we can present things more visually from now and engage people to participate in the presentation. I would definitely recommend it to people around me because I am sure they would fall in love with this useful tool just like me. 

Review of Blogger

As we discussed some possible uses for Blogger in class, such as to share information, express interests and personality, advertisement, reviews, meet new people, and journal and diary, I would like to share my thoughts in using a blog. 

Honestly, I'm not familiar with a blog yet, because I've never had a chance to create a blog or use it personally or professionally before. However, I believe that blogs provide a lot of informations because I could gain informations on, such as famous restaurants and products through blogs that are on Naver which is the most useful online portal website in Korea. Thus, I believe that sharing informations and knowledge with people through a blog is a great way of using a blog, but I don't think personally using a blog wouldn't be different as writing a diary on a piece of paper.

Therefore, I think the best way of using a blog is "sharing and its interaction". 

Through my Blogger, I would like to post my thoughts and knowledge that I learned, then I believe that I can gain at least three more advantages than before I created the blog. If I create a new post based on what I want to teach, first, my professors who are related to the knowledge I posted can give me advises. Second, my classmates can give other feedback on same topic. Lastly, the visitors can visit and gain new informations through my blog and comments. 

As I keep using my Blogger, I think there will be a community that is created by other bloggers and my visitors in the future, and I believe this will be very helpful tool for sharing informations and helping each others in developing and mastering in knowledge.
